In search of Top B

Before you guys think its some kind of secret agent thing that I am going to talk about you guys are not even near.

I bought my wife a Top. Lets call it Top A. She wants to wear it to dinner next week, the occasion which I will talk about in my next blog post. The only problem she is facing is that she needs a skirt that matches the Top A. Lets call it Skirt A. So off we went to the nearest shopping mall in search of Skirt A.

After covering all the shops in two shopping malls, trying out all the skirts in every shop we did not get that particular skirt code named Skirt A.

Thats when under the pile of clothes we found Skirt B. Skirt B was however not matching with Top A. However my wife liked it, which was more important. So skirt B landed in the shopping cart and finally we were left with Top A and Skirt B.

β€œI am not liking it” said my wife.

I grinned.

So it was like a puzzle, our (err her) plan was to check all the malls around for either Top B or skirt A which matches Skirt B or Top A (which I bought for her) respectively.

So off we go again to the next shopping center.

After hours of searching and millions of clothes, Rs 250 for parking alone, circling the city twice, walking over 10 kilometers of shopping space, 200 minutes in the changing room we were still left with Top A and Skirt B.

There is no ending to this post, nor a moral. But The Man has leaned his lesson.

PS : My wife is wearing one of her clothes from her wardrobe to dinner next week.

  3. Girls are always so confused. Even my sis do that. She wants to buy a mobile and from the last three months she has seen every model available in the city but still not decided.
Now whenever she utters the word mobile in front of me, I start screaming like Nana Patekar. 😐

  4. Tough luck… should have simply bought a dress!

  6. I will never ever ever go shopping with a woman!!! I have had life-threatening experiences!!! If I do have to go, I’ll give the woman my credit card and wait in the car! πŸ˜€

  7. Umm…reminds me of myself 😐 I went to buy some tops yesterday…right after lunch. I chose two tops- neither of them fitted me. I liked a perfume too (Which I didn’t need). Since I’d gone shopping, I had to buy something! I ended up buying a perfume that I could do without. And no tops. And this has been happening since the past 3 weeks. The week before, I bought some make up instead of buying some tops. Let’s see wht trash I pick up next weekend.

Oh, and don’t disturb a woman when she’s shopping. πŸ˜‰ It’s a very difficult job. Only if you were a woman…

  12. Well, this was bound to happen if you look around so much. πŸ™‚ I am not at all shopaholic, but when I look at too many places, I end up buying such disjointed but good stuff.

Kudos to you for sticking by! 1 πŸ™‚

  13. Sakhi,

  17. I thought your wife was rather restrained! You are telling me she went to all these malls and still did not buy a Shirt A, a Top C, Handbags A and B and Shoes A, B and C ? Wow! πŸ™‚

  18. LOL…Acually you were sweet to company her πŸ™‚ I love my shopping to be done alone πŸ˜€

  19. Rekha,
πŸ˜€ thats neat, there are very few gals like you.

    Lekhni,
May be because I was already cribbing about my credit card bill πŸ˜€

    Blue mist,
πŸ˜€ oh shopping alone is boring. But one good thing is you can get what YOU want, else we end up having a conflict on the items we choose.

  20. hahahaha…you can be happily assured that your wife is a VERY VERY normal female….any female who gets into one shop and buys 3 tops, 3 skirts and is happy….watch out! She could be a potential psycho!!!

    btw, wot’s her name?

  21. mmmm…familiar yet different…

my femme is also a shopping freak(excuze ma term) but she seems to know exactly what she wants. All the same she is the best in the world when it comes to economy buyout! Donno how, she gets the best things for best prices, but wants to leave her alone while doing her shopping… the last person she wants with her is me.. 😦

Ah not surprising, the best attire I have has been selected by her. I’ve spent double the amount to buy things which doesnt suit me, but she is just amazing!

You see Xylene, I feel we’ve to listen to them to look and feel better.. :))

  22. πŸ˜€
there are two things that gratify the female species the most, as per my experience
    1. Bargaining
    2. Shopping (and recently mall hopping )
    3. Dragging along the husband / bf or the brother for that expedition and giving him a headache
u must have had a workout

My mom never shops – though she lectures me as to the unnecessity of the whole thing – the smile on her face is well worth it. i bought her a saree that day and not knowing the internals of that transaction im now going to have to get the fall bidding and matching blouse piece purchase for it, but it is hardly as strenuous as shopping for/ with my sister

  23. ROFL…. Your blog is total fun!
