The Pram

I bought my kid a pram or the stroller like some others call it. The chinese made pram (The only thing in the baby shop that were not chinese were the people) looked good, was good to hold and light weight. This one seemed ideal for our use (or rather for my son’s use) and we bought it, spending some good old dough on it.

The pram came with an instruction kit which was more interesting than the pram itself. I have tried taking few photographs of it to let you guys know that I am not making it up.

Here are few excerpts.

Honorific Customer :

Thank you very much to the trust and supports of the series product of our company, for the sake of your babyof safety, the usage invited you before careful reading manual, and appropriate preservation with have behind use.

(And only thing I could think of of was ‘what is behind use?’)

The warnings were even better :

  1. The usage car set, please the car each parts of of earnest check whether the conjunction is tightly solid. ( I guess he used the MS word synonyms)
  2. multipy by to put the baby, must right usage safety belt. Nurse the person can not leave.(OH MY GOD)
  3. can not at low lying and damp, frustrated, the slope or dangerous districts use that car. (Roughly translated as it cannot be used by a frustrated parent on dangerous districts like Swat district in Pakistan)
  4. This car pedestal is limited by a baby usage only. (Roughly translated as IT’S FOR ONE BABY ONLY)
  5. Dont push the car set. Must chase the car wheel brake. (Something like If you push the stroller too much, you might as well chase the brake !)

  2. This is funny! Yeah, I am glad you put the pictures because some might find it difficult to believe that anyone can be that confusing! But those who know Xylene would believe it I guess. But dude, how in the world you managed to translate it from that wierd syntax beats me! 🙂

  3. Very good this publishment of Chinese documentation over childrens construction of strolling machine.

  4. oh God! This is the limit! :)))) Tells you so much about the company, doesnt it?

By God, make sure that thing stays in one piece Xylene… This isnt something which we can experiment on.

  5. Geez…this is awesome! Somebody sure didn’t work hard enough on their English!

  6. First time commenter but have always enjoyed your posts.

  7. 1. Please each part of the car ? — Ooo Yeah! 😉
    2. Nurse the person cannot leave. — Looks like you really liked the nurse… 🙂
    3. Cannot do it in low lying, damp and slopes, don’t try or you will get frustrated. 🙂
    4 and 5. – doesn’t make sense.
Damn Xylene, why push the car, buy a new one for yourself.

  8. hahahahah
you know how this happens ? they use websites to translate the content .. 🙂

and I saw a good one during Olympics .. name of a shope ” Java Run Time Error” guess what, the website was down when they tried to translate it 😉

  9. Were you supposed to assemble the sentences? Some sort of a puzzle! 🙂

  10. LOL…I hope the thing performs better than its manual..but seriously check it out first…

  11. loads of laugh… i have seen u over a lot of my friend’s blogs… now that i am visiting ur blog, i feel that i did waste my time in coming so late…

    should have come here earlier…!

    nice blog…!

  12. 😀 😀 Any English teacher wants to apply for the post in china???? They really need you badly 😀 😀

  13. Balu, the shop keeper assembled it for me!

Nita, I knew that it would be hard to believe I live in a completely different world. 🙂
    ft,
    😀 lol

    scorpio,
You wont find anything other than MEME products (chinese Company) at baby shops now. Fisher Price is a good brand (US brand), but then their strollers are not available here.
I think their english is bad, but their products are okay.
    Its in on piece.

    Amreeanddesi,
    😀 lol.

    Shilpa,
Yes, I guess only their english is bad.

    Anshul,
    1. 🙂
    2. Nah, I thought we need to nurse the person and not the baby.
    😀 lol

    Reema, 🙂
Dinu, haha, that was hilarious man !! 😀 lol

    Anshul, haha, that was funy

Amit,Vijay, Yes, but the manual says ‘Use baby only’
    Alice,
Thanks for visiting welcome to crapbook.

    Vishesh,
    😀
Sakhi, ha, i am sure I can do a better job .:D

  14. Dude seriously!! Never read instruction manuals, they are made to complicate things. I think I agree with Dinu about the websites, I once translated something from german that said ” Please flash the .hex files and perform witchcraft!!”

  15. It would have been much easier to go to China and learn cantonese or mandarin rather than assembling that thing :P. God bless that shopkeeper for doing that
On a serious note a lot depends on the type of quality control exercised by the importing company.

  16. Chinglish is becoming famous by the day!!
God bless the shopkeeper! You said he wasn’t chinese. Wonder how he manages to understand!!

Make sure your kid never sets eye on that instruction sheet.

  17. Seriously, these things are deathtraps, man! Be careful! 😀
The one I was put in broke a wheel and I fell on my head and bumped it! And that’s why I turned out the way I am! You really want to put your kid through this? You really want your kid to become like me?? Horrified thought!! 😀

  18. Come on xylene
They are the worlds sweatshops , they make a million prams so that they can sell them at unearthly low costs and translatg chinese is horridly difficult , even jackie chan admits it.
Maybe they should send the manual to a hindu newspaper office to get it translated correctly…

    4. This car pedestal is limited by a baby usage only. could be also translated into
pram seat for a baby , parents or teens please dont sit in it

    5. Dont push the car set. Must chase the car wheel brake.
must be interpreted as release the car brake before pushing the wagon …

  19. moukound,
lol, They would have used google translate as well.
    Seema,
yes,I am not sure if they have a quality check when they are importing.
scorpria, Never. I destroyed it right after reading/photographing it.
    Nikhil,
Man I would be very careful with it.
    Prax,
I understood what they were trying to tell me there. I was just kidding. But the usage of words is freaking hilarious.
